A collection of drawings of alternative genitalia.
JUICE (2014)
Seen as a stand alone piece, JUICE illustrates women's commodified sexuality through the comparison of breasts and pomegranates. In total, it contains three smaller books: one flag book, one book made from a plaster cast of my breast, and one mini portfolio box.
The flag book cover is made from photo transfers on pomegranate juice stained book cloth. The book contains images of pomegranates and breasts and text.
The breast book cover is a plaster cast of my breast. The cast contains sheets of tracing paper with recipes for fertility foods containing pomegranates, hand-baked pomegranate fruit leather (with seeds), and wax paper.
The mini portfolio box cover is made from photo transfers on pomegranate juice stained book cloth. It contains unbound pages in a stack with images found via Google image searches of "woman with pomegranate", "pomegranates", "pomegranate symbolism", and "sexy pomegranate."
MILKING APRON (2014)
An artist book made of a fake sewing pattern of a “milking apron” for fertile women with 8 breasts. Instead of sewing instructions, the text on the pattern creates a poem of found text while researching medical and mythological notions of multi-breasted women to uncover how ideas around fertility have coded the female body.
